Ashgrove Memorial Kindergarten (AMK) acknowledges that in order to provide our students and families with an exceptional kindergarten experience, we are required to capture and keep personal information.

AMK commits to:

The primary purpose for collecting personal and otherwise data and information is to enable AMK to provide children with an individual, developmentally appropriate program that is educational, engaging, nurturing and safe.

This data collection and privacy statement outlines what we collect through this site, what we store and how, and for what purpose. It also outlines your rights regarding this information we may capture.

 

2.1 What information we collect

We collect personal and sensitive information necessary for the operation of AMK. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Child’s name, date of birth, and gender
• Parents’ or guardians’ names, addresses, contact numbers, and email addresses
• Products you’ve viewed
• Cookies
• IP addresses

We collect personal information through (but not only through):

• Waitlist application form
• Contact us form
• Book a visit/tour form
• The AMK shop

 

We, at times, use secure third-party systems to collect financial information for the purposes of fee collection or other financial transactions. We do not collect or store your financial information in any AMK platform.

We take all reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. This includes:

We use this personal information to:

• provide early childhood education and care services
• communicate with parents or guardians
• maintain accurate records
• facilitate purchase of goods from time to time for fundraisers (for example).

AMK uses and discloses personal information for the primary purpose it was collected. In some circumstances AMK may disclose personal information to:

• Governing and regulatory bodies, and government agencies as required by law or to meet funding requirements.
• Health professionals in case of medical emergencies.
• External service providers that assist with our operations (e.g., software providers), ensuring they comply with privacy obligations.
• The AMK Management Committee
• Other parties with the informed consent of the parent or guardian gained at the time of collection.

 

3.0 Your rights

3.1 Access and correction

Parents and guardians have the right to access and request correction of personal information held by AMK.

Requests should be made in writing to the Nominated Supervisor. AMK will initially respond to such requests within three (3) business days. The resolution or finalisation of the requests is dependent on the nature of the request and will be mutually agreed upon between AMK and the parent or guardian making the request.
